Two upcoming zine launches: The Quilliad (June 17) and the Toronto Street Writers’ What We Didn’t Know Existed (July 1)

Hi all,

Very exciting news about the next few weeks: there are two spectacular zine launches coming up! Even more exciting is the fact that each zine includes some poems by me, and each launch party will feature a performance by me, too.

Coming up soon on Monday, June 17 is the launch of The Quilliad, a new zine published by members of UHLS, York University’s creative writing club. I’ve checked out the zine and it’s pretty awesome–there’s definitely some innovative work coming out of the group. The launch will be held at Tequila Bookworm starting at 8:00pm, and a $5 cover will get you your own copy of the zine. You can check out the facebook event page here.

A few weeks from now on July 1 (Canada Day!), the Toronto Street Writers will be throwing their launch party for this year’s zine, What We Didn’t Know Existed. The group puts out a zine every year around this time, and it’s always wonderfully jam-packed with writing and all kinds of art. The party is always pretty great, too (we’ll have free food–including cake!). The event is free, and will be held at the Academy of the Impossible starting at 7:00pm. Check out the facebook event page here.
